The Spunk Press archive encompasses a wide variety of materials with a wide variety of rights attached. The archive member hold a range of opinions when it comes to copyright, anti-copyright, and what constitutes public domain, but we try to accomodate the requirements of our author contributors. For a larger discussion of our views see the section below.

Categories and Language

1) Anti-copyright
TRAILER: Anti-copyright: printing and copying for non-profit purposes encouraged; commercial uses prohibited.
2) Anti-copyright: uses by companies making small profits allowed
3) Copyrighted material: author gives us permission for non-profit dissemination; no commercial use
4) Copyrighted material: commercial use allowed
5) Copyright status uncertain; author or organization known
6) Copyright status uncertain; author unknown
7) GNU or FSF licenses for use
8) Copyrighted material by another publisher; dead anarchist author (It is maintained that copyright expires when a person dies. It is also maintained that a dead anarchist writer like Emma Goldman would have given us public domain permission if she could)
9) Copyrighted matrial, language in text.

Copyright guidelines for contributing new materials

Distribution Codes

We also ask that you tell us what kind of distribution of you materials that you will allow. From time to time we have requests from people to put the archive on such things as music CD-ROMs.

A - Default. Applies to all materials added to Spunk.
This category means that an item added to the Spunk Archive at a web site, can be accessed by people via the web from around the world.
X - Not to be distributed, except through Spunk Press and mirrors
Y - Distribution by other non-profit groups is OK (charging at most media and distribution costs)
Z - Distribution by for-profit groups is OK.
